ERG provides technical assistance to EPA for the international Methane to Markets Partnership (M2M) and the domestic AgSTAR program in encouraging the sound application of anaerobic digestion (AD) systems for the reduction of methane emissions. For M2M, we are seeking experts willing to travel and work with local organizations in foreign countries to build technical skills and facilitate the development of country-specific programs to promote digester technology. Activities include assessing opportunities for the application of AD systems, identifying replicable systems to meet local needs, conducting feasibility studies, preparing preliminary system designs, conducting field studies to assess digester performance, planning and conducting training workshops (e.g., on identifying opportunities, project development, system O&M), developing tools for assessing emission reductions and costs of AD systems, conducting technical studies, and supporting implementation of local programs. For the domestic AgSTAR program, we are seeking experts to assist in technology transfer activities to farm operators, state policy makers, project developers, investors, financial organizations, energy companies, and others. Activities include conducting technical studies; assessing the feasibility, performance, and costs of digester technologies; assessing state and federal energy policies affecting digesters; assessing opportunities for co-digestion and regional digesters, developing calculator tools, developing technology transfer tools and brochures; and conducting training workshops. Experience in the design, development, and implementation of anaerobic digester systems is a must.
