Professional Support Services

Functional Areas

ERG provides support in all 22 Functional Areas. Our team is skilled at providing multifaceted support to a wide variety of mission-oriented projects for the U.S. Navy, the Department of Defense, and other governmental agencies. We provide multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, technicians, business analysts, and other professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds and skill sets to ensure that projects are executed with excellence and efficiency.

3.1       Research and Development (R&D) Support
Zones: All (1-7). Workforce: Chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical, and sanitary engineering; chemistry; physics; earth, naval, and management sciences; industrial and mechanical technologies; naval architecture; and economics.

3.2       Engineering, System Engineering, and Process Engineering Support
Zones: All (1-7). Workforce: Biological systems, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, marine, mechanical, naval, nuclear, sanitary, system, and weapons engineering; industrial and mechanical technology; naval architecture; aviation science; computer science; finance; physics; chemistry; earth science; and geology.

3.3       Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis Support
Zones: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Workforce: Chemical, electrical, mechanical, and ocean engineering; statistics; AutoCAD® design; engineering and applied mechanics; and naval architecture.

3.4       Prototyping, Pre-Production, Model-Making, and Fabrication Support
Zones: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Workforce: Chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and sanitary engineering; earth science; industrial and mechanical technologies; and AutoCAD design.

3.5       System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support

3.6       Software Engineering, Development, Programming, and Network Support

3.7       Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RM&A) Support
Zones: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Workforce: Chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering.

3.8       Human Factors, Performance, and Usability Engineering Support
Zones: 1, 2, and 5. Workforce: Physical Science.

3.9       System Safety Engineering Support

3.10     Configuration Management (CM) Support

3.11     Quality Assurance (QA) Support

3.12     Information System (IS) Development, Information Assurance (IA), and Information Technology (IT) Support

3.13     Ship Inactivation and Disposal Support
Zones: 1, 3, 6, and 7. Workforce: Environmental and naval engineering, and oceanography.

3.14     Interoperability, Test and Evaluation, and Trials Support

3.15     Measurement Facilities, Range, and Instrumentation Support

3.16     Acquisition Logistics Support
