OSHA recently published its Final Rule on Occupational Exposure to Crystalline Silica, which will help protect more than 2 million workers exposed to dust from processing this common mineral at construction sites and in the manufacturing of many products. ERG provided technical and analytical support for this rule, from OSHA’s initial meetings with stakeholders to final promulgation. ERG identified at-risk worker populations, characterized their silica exposures, and analyzed the economic costs and benefits associated with implementing the new standard.
