Planning the Risk Assessment

During planning, the ecological risk assessment team considers non-science issues related to the goals, scope, and focus for the assessment. As the graphic below shows, planning is handled as a distinct and separate phase from the risk assessment itself to help ensure that these issues do not introduce bias. But planning is a crucial first step, providing an important foundation for the risk assessment.
