resourceRisk Manager — Risk Assessor Checkpoints (Text Version)

Each of the three phases in which a product is developed has certain associated discussion topics you should cover with the risk manager within the time frame it's needed.

Reminder! The three products of problem formulation are:

  • Assessment endpoints.
  • Conceptual model.
  • Analysis plan.

Develop Conceptual Model

Once a conceptual model has been developed, it should be presented to risk managers to check whether:

  1. The conceptual model is clear.
  2. It addresses risk managers' concerns.

Select Assessment Endpoints

Risk assessors and risk managers should agree that selected endpoints effectively represent the management goals.

Develop Analysis Plan

Risk assessors and risk managers review the analysis plan to ensure that the analyses will provide information the manager can use. This discussion helps ensure that the appropriate balance among requirements for the decision, data availability, and resource constraints is established for the risk assessment.
