Look at the illustration below. You've made the first step of analysis by collecting some of the key data that you will use. Now you need to assess and articulate the relationships behind the relevant data, and write your findings in a clear, scientifically valid profile. The figure below shows the preparation involved in characterizing ecological effects. The steps look logical; analyze stressor response, establish causality, and then link those effects to the assessment endpoints of concern. But you learned in Lesson 4 that things are more complicated than that. Think again of teaching in one or two lines what each of these elements of ecological effects characterization involves. Do you need to review Lesson 4: Characterizing Ecological Effects to do this for each component of this exercise? |
