At
the end of the risk assessment process, risk managers should have
enough information to make a risk management decision.
Making a decision may be cause for celebration. It also often marks
the beginning of extensive work for involved parties. For example,
if a decision is made to ease risks by reducing exposure (for example,
reducing pesticide exposure by installing buffer strips or lowering
application rates), the risk manager will likely monitor impacted
areas to determine whether the goal is achieved.
Congratulations! You've
learned all the phases of ecological risk assessment, and the responsibilities
involved in conveying to interested parties what you discover during
the assessment.
