Ayesha Berlind
Senior Economist
A core aspect of my work involves applying my toolbox of analytical techniques to generate novel and creative ways to meet our clients’ data and research needs. This often involves learning new subject matter. I greatly enjoy this process as it feeds my natural curiosity and is very satisfying to deliver products that can help improve public health.
Ayesha (she/her/hers), an ERG senior economist and project manager, has worked at the intersection of public health and economics for more than 20 years, supporting a wide range of projects for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state agencies during that time. Her work includes conducting regulatory impact analyses, developing industry profiles, leading surveys and expert elicitations, evaluating government programs, and developing market projections. Through this work, she has developed expertise in a broad range of industry regulatory requirements, manufacturing practices, and public health topics, including food safety and recalls, pharmaceuticals (including antibiotics, biologics and biosimilars), cosmetics, dietary supplements, medical gas, clinical trials, medical devices, and tobacco and vaping products. She continues to apply this subject knowledge to generate effective solutions to client research questions where standard data are not readily available.
Ayesha holds a B.S. in economics and a B.S. in biology from George Mason University and an M.S. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland. In her free time, she loves to volunteer at a local dog rescue, hike, paddleboard, and travel, preferably with her family, which includes two goofy labs.
