There are many things to consider when setting up a single sampling device or an entire monitoring network. Am I looking for the right compounds? Am I using the right equipment to provide the needed data? How can I ensure that the data collected are properly validated? Are there new technologies that could be employed? Essentially, I want to make sure our clients get the data that speak most effectively to their concerns.
Scott Sholar is an ERG vice president with 22 years of experience in environmental sampling and analysis. He has spent much of his career visiting areas of concern to design, install, and operate monitoring networks for ambient air quality assessment or emergency response. He has also presented at several Air and Waste Management Association, Source Emission Society, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regional conferences on air monitoring. Scott’s work has taken him from Midwest farmland, to the tops of mountains and skyscrapers, into the heart of industry, and even onto an aircraft carrier.
Scott joined ERG’s environmental measurements group in 2001. He holds a B.A. in environmental science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is 40-hour HAZWOPER, IATA, and DOT certified.
