Zak Erickson
Lead Biologist
Starting early in my childhood, my parents took me on frequent adventures exploring our country’s outdoor places, instilling the value of our natural environment in me at a very young age. It was this experience that inspired me to dedicate my professional career to monitoring and protecting these resources.
Zak Erickson (he/him/his), a lead biologist at PG Environmental (a division of ERG), has over a decade of experience conducting aquatic resource assessments and monitoring across the United States. He has supported a wide variety of surveys (often in extremely remote locations) and high-profile projects for multiple federal and state clients, including the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Bureau of Land Management, Colorado Department of Health and Environment, U.S. Department of Justice, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Zak specializes in river and stream assessments, wetland inventory and mapping, jurisdictional determinations, and watershed mapping and analysis. He also manages and supports numerous Safe Drinking Water Act projects by assisting in facility inspections, managing subcontractor laboratory solicitations, developing and implementing quality assurance project plans, and coordinating sampling logistics.
Zak is an EPA-credentialed Clean Water Act Wetlands Inspector. He holds a B.S. in fish, wildlife, and conservation biology, with a fisheries minor, from Colorado State University. Outside work, he enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing, camping, and playing basketball with family and friends.
