ERG Helps OSHA Protect Healthcare Workers from Violence

Healthcare workers face many hazards in their jobs, including the risk of physical or verbal assault. In fact, healthcare workers suffer 15,000 to 20,000 serious violent injuries every year—nearly as many as all other industries combined. To help tackle this problem, ERG worked with OSHA to develop a set of outreach and guidance documents that raise awareness, describe proven solutions, and offer real-world examples from leading hospitals and nursing homes that have already taken important steps to prevent workplace violence.
