ERG is excited to announce the new Measurements and Laboratory (M&L) Services group.

Based at our NELAC-certified, state-of-the-art laboratory in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the M&L group will continue to lead EPA’s National Monitoring Programs while providing measurement and analytical laboratory services to numerous federal, state, local, and Tribal clients. Our laboratory services provide cutting-edge analytical laboratory services, reliable measurements made using innovative technology, and data characterization solutions for our clients. Additionally, the M&L group will provide expertise in routine and advanced measurement techniques, including high-resolution mobile monitoring, remote sensing technologies, low-cost sensors, long-term sensor network deployments, drone- and satellite-based measurements, and other emerging technologies.

“ERG’s Measurements and Laboratory Services group brings decades of expertise in designing measurement and laboratory solutions tailored to unique project and client needs,” said Parik Deshmukh, M&L Director. “We provide excellent facilities, experienced staff, and flexible approaches to maximize the efficiency and quality of our services.”

Parik replaces outgoing Lab Director Julie Swift.

“I am proud and honored to work in a laboratory that specializes in reporting the most accurate and precise concentrations of hazardous air pollutants across the United States,” she said. “Beyond providing high-quality results, I particularly enjoy applying my creativity to continuously improving monitoring methods and the data they provide.”

The M&L group’s expertise includes:

  • Cutting-edge analytical laboratory services and data characterization solutions.
  • Developing and implementing stationary and mobile measurements platforms for research and community-based monitoring.
  • Engineering high-resolution spatial and temporal mobile monitoring capabilities across the country
  • Field testing and method development of advanced O&G emissions measurement technologies
  • Pinpointing fugitive odor and identifying non-targeted sources using ERG’s own DART.
  • Conducting air emission research using next-generation emissions measurements (NGEM) technology
