ERG Updates EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data Explorer

ERG recently supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in another successful update to its Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data Explorer. Every year, EPA releases its Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks, which tracks U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and sinks by source, economic sector, and greenhouse gas, going back to 1990. In 2013, to complement the release of this annual report, ERG developed the Data Explorer, an interactive tool that allows users to create customized graphs, examine trends over time, and download data from the inventory. Since then, ERG has updated the Data Explorer annually with up-to-date national data to correspond to each year’s inventory report. In 2022, ERG also added the ability for users to graph greenhouse gas emissions by state. ERG is pleased to continue supporting EPA in providing the public access to important U.S. greenhouse gas data in a dynamic, user-friendly environment.
