Jennifer Lam

Director

The most rewarding part of my work is being able to help our clients and communities from behind the scenes, reflect on their impact, and find ways to become more effective and accessible in improving community conditions for all.

Jennifer Lam, a director of ERG, has over 13 years’ experience in marine and coastal resource management, outreach and engagement, and project coordination. She has worked with academic institutions, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to develop strategic plans and build governance and management structures that bolster organizational operations for continued longevity and growth.

Jennifer specializes in strategy and survey development, grant program design and evaluations, research and data analysis, and community engagement. She has managed projects to analyze the ocean resources and blue economy market in Oregon; develop a 10-year Sea Grant aquaculture roadmap; design community workshops for community resilience and outreach planning; prepare a proposal to establish a Caribbean Coastal Capital Center of Excellence to increase knowledge and institutional capacity for resilient coastal zone management; and develop and implement a replicable monitoring protocol and survey to evaluate the effectiveness of annual federally funded fisher workshops.

Jennifer holds a B.S. in general science and an M.S. in marine resource management, with minors in health management and policy and chemistry, both from Oregon State University. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors near the water, watching NFL football (go Saints!), and traveling to search for the best brunch spots and street art in town.
