Vehicle Decarbonization Service Area Lead

Born and raised near the “Motor City,” I’m proud to support the transition to a cleaner, smarter transportation future. Over the course of my career, I’ve seen firsthand the power of collaboration, innovation, and smart policy to drive meaningful progress. From mobilizing corporate leadership on fleet electrification to helping shape the rollout of a national EV charging infrastructure network, I’m committed to building vehicle decarbonization solutions that not only are sustainable, scalable, and equitable, but also get the job done.

Sara Forni, service area lead for vehicle decarbonization at ERG, brings to her work more than 13 years of experience driving innovation and impact across the electric vehicle (EV), charging infrastructure, and clean transportation landscape. Her career spans leadership roles across government, nonprofits, and consulting, including most recently serving as a deployment manager at the U.S. Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (JOET) and EV Director at the sustainability nonprofit Ceres.

At JOET, Sara helped shape national strategies for medium- and heavy-duty EV charging infrastructure and supported key federal programs such as the National EV Infrastructure (NEVI) formula fund and Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) discretionary grant program. In her role at Ceres, she founded and led the Corporate EV Alliance—a coalition of 30+ global and U.S. companies (including Amazon, Best Buy, and DHL) fostering industry collaboration to accelerate commercial fleet electrification; address critical supply chain, technology, and electric grid challenges; and advocate for supportive state and federal policies in the United States. Sara has a B.S. in environmental studies and applications from Michigan State University.
