Coastal and Deltaic Wetland Conservation Convenings

Project Brief
California aims to meet ambitious goals for wetland conservation and restoration by 2040. To reach these goals, state and regional agencies and their partners will need a coordinated approach to advance their efforts and overcome key barriers. ERG is supporting the Wetlands for Climate Partnership—a collaborative effort led by The Nature Conservancy and other organizations—in planning, facilitating, and implementing a series of eight workshops related to coastal and deltaic wetland conservation along the California coastline. The workshops, which will include federal, state, and regional partners, will aim to re-energize wetland conservation commitments, assess progress, and identify barriers and solutions to persistent problems, including funding, permitting, and tracking progress. ERG will synthesize the workshop results into a report that summarizes outcomes and next steps. ERG's facilitation and reporting will provide clear and actionable steps and support the Wetlands for Climate Partnership's ongoing efforts to achieve California's wetland goals.
