ERG’s Clean Transportation Group recently received multiple new work orders from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to improve emissions estimates and air quality in Texas. Under these new work orders, ERG will:

  • Analyze the effectiveness of Texas’s vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) program.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of fees charged by I/M program stations.
  • Develop emissions estimates for oil and gas drilling rigs.
  • Improve the tool used to estimate nonroad equipment emissions (for example, emissions from excavators and agricultural tractors) and deliver related training for TCEQ staff.

“Each of these projects builds on prior work we have completed for the agency,” said Rick Baker, ERG’s manager for the current TCEQ contract. “ERG is pleased to continue our longstanding relationship with the TCEQ’s Air Quality Division.” ERG has supported the TCEQ for more than 25 years, providing expertise in emissions modeling, economic and statistical analysis, and communications support.
