Senior Environmental Engineer

I love that stormwater touches so many aspects of our lives and that, when managed well, it brings numerous benefits to our communities and the environment. It has been exciting to see stormwater grow in importance at both national and local levels.

For more than 15 years, Lauren (she/her/hers) has worked as both a leader and individual contributor on a wide range of projects that have successfully addressed environmental issues. Throughout her career, her work has focused on stormwater management, with an emphasis on meeting emerging regulatory and society-driven challenges, which often stem from the need for communities to be more resilient. Lauren has an aptitude for developing technical solutions that meet schedule, budget, and political needs. She has a passion for making our communities better and waterbodies healthier with smart stormwater management and green infrastructure implementation.

Lauren’s projects support stormwater management and permitting, environmental compliance, facility stormwater planning, sustainable development, and outreach. She leads projects involving National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits and programs, green infrastructure best management practices, and Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load compliance and crediting. Lauren also has expertise in municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) program implementation, especially in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. She provides engineering analyses and stormwater reviews of design and construction drawings. More recently, she has also worked on projects focusing on stormwater and green infrastructure education and outreach campaigns.

Lauren holds a B.S. in civil engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University. Outside work, she enjoys cooking, gardening, yoga, and pointing out green infrastructure to her family.
