ERG has been selected to support the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality in advancing pollution prevention efforts across auto shops in Northern Virginia. The ERG team will develop a user-friendly, Virginia-specific pollution prevention manual for auto shops—including a practical checklist of pollution prevention practices, such as using safer and healthier cleaning and degreasing products. The ERG team will use the manual and checklist to assess 20 auto shops and provide them with alternative products to try. ERG will also develop case studies and success stories based on the results of the work, highlighting the environmental and operational benefits achieved through the program.

“We’re excited to support the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality in their efforts to create safer and healthier workplaces for auto repair shop personnel and introduce them to greener products,” said Joy Onasch, ERG Project Manager.
