Deja Curtis, a Research and Policy Analyst at ERG, recently published an article, “Celebrate Black History Month with this Timeless Environmental Playlist,” in Sierra magazine. The featured songs, all by Black artists, center relationships with the environment. In the article, Curtis characterizes the curation as “a genre-blending and time-hopping playlist [that] captures some of the endless ways that the environment shapes our lived experiences in addition to our knowledge of self.” Curtis is currently an editorial fellow at Sierra, a national print and digital magazine that publishes award-winning journalism and cutting-edge photography, art, and video dedicated to protecting the natural world.
