ERG has been named the prime contractor on a 5-year contract to support the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS) in the chemicals, coatings, and commerce sectors.

This work furthers the EPA’s goals of reducing cancers and other health problems attributable to exposures to hazardous air pollutants, as laid out under the Clean Air Act.

Specifically, ERG’s team of scientists, engineers, and other experts will assist the EPA in developing, reviewing, and revising standards for known sources of toxic air emissions, like chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, incinerators, and others.

“We've supported the OAQPS in its mission to preserve and improve air quality in the United States for more than 40 years, and we’re honored to continue that legacy - because everyone deserves to breathe clean, healthy air,” said Jason Huckaby, ERG Senior Chemical Engineer.

ERG’s past work for the OAQPS includes supporting the development of National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), and Emission Guidelines for several industrial, surface coating, chemical manufacturing, and waste disposal source categories. ERG also supported periodic review and revision, as necessary, to these standards as required by the Clean Air Act, as well as other projects, such as tracking the emissions reduction performance of these rulemakings since before the rule development through the latest regulatory review cycle.
