Kelly Haverstick is a senior economist, with 20 years of experience in data analysis, economic analysis, regulatory support, and program impact and evaluation. She has extensive experience using many large, nationally representative data sets collected at the individual or entity level. As a labor economist, Kelly enjoys using her analytic skills for any topic that involves applying statistical methods to data to answer important policy questions or provide valuable insight to inform policy decisions. Primarily through work on various regulations on worker standards, Kelly has assisted the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor in analyzing economic impacts and evaluating and responding to comments. She conducts similar analyses related to protecting worker health and safety for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Kelly is interested in many different labor-related topics. For example, prior to joining ERG she conducted econometric and statistical analyses that address policy-relevant research questions related to retirement and older workers. She conducted many of these analyses on large, nationally representative survey datasets that were sometimes matched to administrative records, and she summarized her research findings in short, non-technical papers to inform the public about important retirement issues.

Kelly holds a B.A. in economics and accounting from Lycoming College and a Ph.D. in economics from Boston College. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, spoiling her beagle, and reading.
