An ERG-authored paper won the 2016 Association for Commuter Transportation National Excellence in Research Award. ERG wrote Making the Shift: How TMAs in Massachusetts Leverage Private-Sector Resources to Achieve State Goals & Public Benefits for MassCommute, a statewide association of transportation management associations (TMAs). The white paper assesses the impact of transportation demand management and public-private partnerships in reducing drive-alone commuting in Massachusetts. ERG collected and analyzed commute data and interviewed policymakers and businesses to write the paper, which lays out a path for increasing the already significant economic, environmental, and societal benefits generated by Massachusetts' unique collaboration among employers, state agencies, institutions, and TMAs.
