Digital Marketing Campaign to Slow the Spread of COVID-19

Project Brief

The Challenge

When the COVID-19 pandemic began to affect Fairfax County, Virginia, the local health department realized it needed a broad-reaching campaign to help slow the spread of the virus. They chose ERG to create a multiplatform, multilanguage ad campaign to reach a population diverse in race, age, education, cultural background, economic status, and access to digital information.


ERG's Solution

ERG developed the “Our Health Is in Our Hands” campaign to reach Fairfax County’s diverse residents and empower them to make simple changes to stay healthy and prevent the spread of COVID-19. ERG created ads and marketing materials across an array of traditional and digital media platforms such as social media sites, YouTube, Google, and over-the-top video-streaming apps. Creative content included a Spanish-language fotonovela, as well as print ads in Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish. Campaign ads reached 1.4 million people, including a video public service announcement that was viewed more than 500,000 times.
