ERG-Developed Guidance Supports Environmental Protection Efforts in U.S.-Mexico Border Region

ERG recently helped EPA’s Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery develop a bilingual guidance manual that assists vehicle salvage facilities operating in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The 22-page workbook provides concise information on proper removal, storage, and handling of potentially hazardous materials from discarded vehicles. ERG also developed a full-color wall poster and six illustrated quick reference fact sheets that identify priority waste streams generated from processing end-of-life vehicles. The guidance materials will be used to support the Border 2020 program—a collaborative effort between EPA and Mexico's Secretary for Environment and Natural Resources.
